Can you imagine a world without music? How about movies or television shows? Art? What about the ability to solve problems?
They all include the same foundation….. Creativity!
Creativity involves possibility. What could be.
We all have it. Just like any muscle, we need to practice using it in order to allow it to grow and develop. Creativity involves choice, and choice gives us the ability to become self-determined and self-responsible. When we become responsible for ourselves, we then are self-empowered.
Being creative gives us a feeling of fulfillment because we are producing something that is our unique contribution to the world (even if only on a small scale). It allows us to have self-expression.
Creativity provides us with a way to think up alternative solutions to problems, when “the way we’ve always done it” doesn’t work anymore. It gives us the platform to dream up a beautiful future.
It can bring us together as a community in the form of a musical band, a group working on quilts, or trying to find answers to issues as a team at work.
If you don’t think you are a creative person, try this as an experiment:
Think about a problem you would like to solve. Grab a pen and paper and start writing down all your ideas on how to solve this dilemma, no matter how impractical they seem. Then get together with some friends, and have them come up with additional solutions. Once you have a nice list, go over them together and discuss the possibilities. You might surprise yourself with what you come up with.
The more you engage in the creative process, the more it will benefit you in your life. The road is wide open for exploration. Your adventure awaits…..
